Winning the competition after going head-to-head with five finalists in a public vote, Connor Scott from Birmingham spoke about the inspiration behind his mix:
“Winning the Bedroom 2 Dancefloor competition has opened up so many opportunities for me. I’ve always wanted to work in big music events – seeing how a DJ can change the hype of a crowd and the whole experience of an event or even a night out, made realise that is what I wanted to be. Playing to different crowds, meeting new people, travelling and being able to work with and make music is what I love most.
Music is very important to me, and Nordoff Robbins are a charity that I think is doing amazing work. Music has had a massive benefit on my own mental health and I’ve seen how it can give someone who maybe can’t speak or communicate easily, an outlet”
ABOUT THE COMPETITION
Nordoff Robbins music therapy charity and Hard Rock Hotel London have teamed up to launch our very first DJ competition, Bedroom 2 Dancefloor. We are committed to supporting new talent and championing health and wellbeing within music.
Since the start of April we’ve been on a nationwide search, calling on aspiring DJ’s to share their music and be heard by industry experts from across the electronic dance music industry.
The competition has now closed and our aspiring DJs have started their journey of discovery as our expert panel select their top 5 for you to listen to and vote for.
OUR 2019 WINNER
We’re delighted to announce that Connor Scott, from Birmingham, won over the British public in a voting victory – as well as an elite judging panel of music experts – in becoming Britain’s best bedroom DJ.

NORDOFF ROBBINS
At Nordoff Robbins, we celebrate the joy and the vital role music plays in changing the lives of those with life-limiting illnesses, physical disabilities and emotional challenges.
We are the largest independent music therapy charity in the UK, dedicated to changing lives through music. In the hands of our trained practitioners, music therapy can help a child with autism to communicate, unlock forgotten memories for those living with dementia or provide comfort and inclusion for someone struggling with depression and anxiety.
We are delighted to be working with dance music icon, Brandon Block as part of the Bedroom 2 Dancefloor campaign. Brandon, who is on our panel of judges, is now a leading thought coach. Together, we are champions of the key issues around the social value of music and the impact music therapy can have on health and wellbeing.
